Our Mission

We provide free, one-to-one tutoring for adults reading at or below 6th grade level. We work with both Basic Literacy students and new English learners.

Donations

All RAALP tutors are volunteers.  Your donation covers such things as:


  • Materials for our tutor lending library

  • Tutor training  expenses and continuing education for tutors

  • Keeping the RAALP office open

  • Outreach booth fees

  • Tutor and student recruitment via local media

  • $10 buys supplies for making outreach fliers

  • $20 buys a tutor training book for a new volunteer tutor

  •  A $35 gift buys an adult literacy workbook and companion tutor guide for the lending library

  • A $65 gift pays the booth fee at a local festival

  • $100 is the cost of a local, online ad to recruit tutors

  • A $500 donation pays for two weeks of radio advertising to reach adult literacy students
